Introduction of HEBUST

Hebei University of Science and Technology (HEBUST) is one of the key universities of Hebei Province. At present, the university has 21 schools and departments for teaching, 79 programs for undergraduates and 25 first-class programs, 3 second-class programs and 15 professional programs for masters. It has a total enrolment of over 23,000 undergraduate, postgraduate students and international students with 2,400 staff.

HEBUST has been carried out cooperative relations with 109 universities and scientific research institutions in 24 countries. At present, there are 1 Joint Education Institute, 5 Joint Education Programs, 9 majors of Joint Education Programs. It has set up 15 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English, and recruited international students from more than 20 countries. The first Sejong School of South Korea in Hebei Province also settled in HEBUST. In University Rankings by Internationalization of 2017 (2017URI), HEBUST ranks 99. 19 programs launched at HEBUST including Hebei 100 Foreign Talents Program, and International Technology Cooperation Base. HEBUST is also the Top Ten Units of Talent Introduction in Hebei Province.

The university is located in Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei province. As the center of politics, economy, technology, finance and culture, Shijiazhuang is also featured with long history, rich human landscapes and beautiful natural scenery. Chinese mandarin is the widely-used communication language. Due to the newly built high-speed railway, it only takes passengers 60 minutes from Shijiazhuang to Beijing. The university is located in downtown Shijiazhuang. The international students would enjoy a convenient life here, with the hospital, bank, post office, mall, supermarket, restaurant, gym and other entertainment places within reach. The campus canteen offers delicious food of different tastes with cheaper prices.

Application Qualifications and Categories

★ Degree Students:

Applicants for the undergraduate programs must have the academic credentials analogous to those of Chinese senior middle school and age should be not over 25. Applicants for the postgraduate programs must hold a bachelor's degree and age should be not over 30.

The programs last for 4 years for undergraduates, and 2-3 years for postgraduates.

International students could have separate learning schedule and could have the same learning schedule with Chinese students. International students would be awarded graduation certificate after finishing required credits and dissertation defense.

★ Chinese Language Students

Learning period could last from 0.5 to 3 years. Class starts in every March and September. we set primary, secondary and advanced programs for the students at different levels, offering an overall training in listening, speaking, reading and writing. In order to improve the students' Chinese proficiency, courses like Chinese Traditional Culture, Chinese Talent will also be included. We pay attention to the international students' Chinese proficiency Test (HSK) and set special courses for the test. Our HSK program is featured with high pass rate.

Notice: The university has the programs of Teaching Chinese for international students and Chinese language and literature, with a strong team of teaching staff. Students who pass the HSK exam have the priority to apply for the bachelor's or master's degree programs in the university.

Application

★Application Process

Application processes are as follows:

1.Download Application Form, Guardian's Guarantee Form, The Health Examination Report and Resume Form at http://english.hebust.edu.cn.

2.Mail,fax or email the filled out Application Form, Guardian's Guarantee Form, The Health Examination Report and Resume, the copy of graduation certificate, the transcript(duplicate), No Criminal Record Certificate, Certificate of Deposit and Resume to the International Student Management Office one or two months before the enrolment.

3.Upon receiving the documents mentioned above, the International Student Management Office will check all the information. Then the Admission Letter, Visa Application for Study in China Form (JW202) will be sent out to the applicants within two weeks after the application is approved.

★Entrance Time

Degree Students: Classes start in September.

Chinese Language Students: Classes start in March and in September.

Standard Expenses

Scholarship and Tuition Remission

1. HEBUST sets scholarship for the international students.

Bachelors: 15,000 yuan/year for the first class, 10,000 yuan/year for the second class, and 5,000 yuan/year for the third class. 

Masters: 20,000 yuan/year for the first class, 15,000 yuan/year for the second class, and 10,000 yuan/year for the third class.

2. The university offers tuition remission. Students' Affairs Office will select qualified students based on the enrollment policy. The remission amount could be 10,000 yuan to 17,000 yuan.
