1. About NCUST

North China University of Science and Technology (NCUST) is located in Caofeidian Xincheng, Tangshan, a coastal modern city and the industrial powerhouse in the Circum-Bohai Sea Economic Zone. The convenient transportation facilities make it easy to get around. It is just 2.5 hours away from Beijing, the Capital city of China, and 1.5 hours away from Tianjin and Beidaihe, one of the top China coastal cities. With a mild and pleasant semi-humid continental climate in the warm temperate zone and four distinct seasons, Tangshan is known as the Jingdong Treasure, where the yearly average temperature is 12.5 ℃ and the annual precipitation in depth ranges from 500 mm to 700 mm.

North China University of Science and Technology (NCUST),co-constructed by Hebei Provincial Government, is one of the top-ranking universities in Hebei province. NCUST ranks 154th in Best Global Universities in China and 2nd in Hebei province according to the 2021 U.S. News Rankings. The campus occupies a floor space up to 1.036 million square meters. NCUST has 30 teaching units and is currently attended by 43491 students and 2033 full-time teachers. The university has 3 disciplines authorized by the state to grant doctoral degrees, 27 disciplines for master's degrees, and 21 authorization categories for professional master's degrees, 95 undergraduate programs and 1 post-doctoral research station. 

2. Applicant qualifications

(1) Basic requirements

An applicant should be both physically and mentally healthy and be of no criminal record. Besides, he/she should be willing to abide by laws of People's Republic of China and regulations of the university and be willing to learn Chinese culture and respect various Chinese customs.

(2) Educational requirements

A. A bachelor degree applicant should be with high school diploma;

B. A master degree applicant should be with bachelor degree;

C. A PhD applicant should be with master degree

3.Programs

(1)Bachelor Degree Programs

Clinical medicine: 6 years for English medium program, 5 years for Chinese medium program

Other subjects related to medicine: 5 years

Non-medical majors(except for major of Architecture): 4 years

The bachelor degree will be granted on condition that a candidate accomplish the assignments and tasks of the cultivation plan of the university and passes the degree dissertation defense.

(2) Master Degree Programs

The length of study is to be 2.5-3 years.

The master degree is to be granted on condition that a candidate accomplish the assignments and tasks of the cultivation plan of the university and passes the degree dissertation defense.

(3) PhD Programs

The length of study is to be 3-6 years. 

The doctor degree is to be granted on condition that a candidate accomplish the assignments and tasks of the cultivation plan of the university and passes the degree dissertation defense.

5.Scholarships

(1) Bachelor Degree Programs

A. Clinical medicine major

The 1^st year: a tuition waiver of 7,500 Yuan/person for all freshmen; from the 2^nd to the 5^th year: scholarships are to be provided for 20-30% of students at school according to comprehensive evaluations.

B. Non-clinical medicine major

10,000 Yuan/person/year (limited seats)

(2) Master Degree Programs: Registration fee is for free with a stipend of 15,000 yuan/person/year (limited seats)

(3) PhD Programs: tuition, accommodation and registration fee are for free with a stipend of 30,000 yuan/person/year (paid on a monthly basis of 2,500 Yuan/person)

7. Procedures of application and admission

(1)Application

An Applicant should send all application documents mentioned above(PDF version only with high definition) to admissions@ncst.edu.cn. 

(2)Admission

If an applicant is admitted by our university, he/she can apply for the student visa (X visa) to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in his/her country and if the entry to China permitted, with the admission Letter, JW202, the original Physical Examination Record for foreigner and blood test report, he/she is required to register in our university within the designated date.
