Enrollment Guide for International Students of Chengdu University of Technology Graduate Program for 2022

1. Academic Calendar 2022-2023

The academic calendar is divided into fall and spring semesters of approximately 18 weeks each. Fall Semester 2022 starts early September to mid-January of the following year, and Spring Semester 2023 starts the end of February to mid-July. CDUT accepts postgraduate International student applications including Master' degree and PhD for Fall Semester attendance (Sept.-Jan.) only.

2. Program Introduction 

CDUT provides a 3-year master's degree and a 4-year PhD's degree program taught in English-Chinese or Chinese. To get a Postgraduate Degree, a full course of study each Fall and Spring Semester in 3 years or 4 years correspondingly must be successfully completed, including a dissertation, a research project or an internship if required.

2. Select "Registration → Start Application → Select an Enrollment Category → Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree"

3. Applicants can find supervisor information in the attachment One.

6. Application Supporting Documents

Applicants need to submit all the following documents when applying online:

1. Copy of the first page in the passport, and the valid visa page (if the applicant is in China)

2. Academic certificate of the highest degree: Applicants apply for master degree should provide a bachelor's degree certificate; applicants apply for Ph.D degree should provide a bachelor's degree and a master's degree certificate (if the applicant obtained the academic certificates outside China, the local notarization and certification by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country need to be carried out)

3. Transcripts of the highest academic degree (if the applicant obtained the academic certificates outside China, the local notarization and certification of transcripts by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country need to be carried out)

4. Non-criminal record certificate (if the certificate was issued outside China, a notarization authenticated by local Chinese embassy or consulate is required)

5. Provisional Acceptance Form for International Student (please download the attachment)

6. Academic recommendation letter

7. Chinese or English proficiency certificate

8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (if the applicant is not in China)

9. Curriculum Vitae

10. Study Plan for Master's /Ph.D Degree

11. Proof of financial support

12. Non-Criminal record certificate

13. Other supporting materials (competition awards, publication of articles, proof of extracurricular activities, etc.)

Note:

1. All the submitted documents issued outside China must be authenticated by local Chinese embassy or consulate. If any of these documents are not written in English, a translation in Chinese must be present by a certified translation company prior to the authentication.

2. Applicants may be requested to provide supplementary documents or interview by telephone/video to support their applications.

7. Tuition Fees and Scholarship

1. Tuition Fees

Registration fee, tuition fee, accommodation fee and insurance fee are waived for all postgraduate students

2. Living allowance

All postgraduate student will receive a living allowance from CDUT

a. Master's Degree: RMB 1000.00/month for 10 months yearly for 3 years of study

b. Ph.D Degree: RMB 1,500.00/month for 10 months yearly for 4 years of study.

3. Project Subsidies

A project subsidy may be considered if postgraduate students are participating in a sponsored research project. Receipt of a continuation grant is usually based on availability of funds and project performance.

Postgraduate students with excellent grades and performance are encouraged to apply for the following scholarships:

a. Chengdu "Sister Cities" Scholarship

b. Chengdu "the Belt and Road" Scholarship

c. Sichuan Provincial Scholarship
