2022 General Regulation of NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship for International Students
I.Summary
Nanjing University of Science & Technology is a multi-disciplinary, research-oriented university. Since 2014, the university has set up Nanjing Municipal Government-Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship (NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship) in a bid to support excellent international students to pursue their degree study.
II.How to apply
1.Check your eligibility
Applicant must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health both physically and mentally with good academic background, who must observe Chinese laws as well as university rules and regulations, and respect Chinese customs; Each scholarship recipient will be granted with no more than one scholarship.
Undergraduate candidate:
Completion of secondary study
Under the age of 28
Master candidate:
Bachelor's degree
Under the age of 30
PhD candidate:
Research master's degree
Under the age of 35.
All candidates need to meet the university's language proficiency requirement.
2.Approach a potential supervisor (for Master & PhD applicants)
Identify a researcher with relevant expertise and get agreement to support your postgraduate study and project.

3.Gather your documents
You will need to compile the necessary documents. We will accept scanned copies of original documents, but you will have to keep all original documents for the duration of your study.
If any of your documents is in a language other than Chinese or English, you will need to send both the original document and an official translation.
1)Passport
Including a copy of the information page (with your photo) in your passport.
2)Degree certificate
A degree certificate is a legal document, imprinted with a university seal. It should state the name of your qualification and areas of study. Include all degree certificates for secondary study (undergraduate applicant), and post-secondary (graduate applicant) with your application.
3)Academic transcript
This should show all study you have undertaken since secondary school, whether complete or incomplete, including the institution grading scale.
4)Language documents
All applicants need to meet the university's language proficiency requirement.
For English-taught program applicants: copy of official IELTS certificate (6 or above), TOFEL certificate (over 85), or Duolingo 90 above;
For Chinese taught program applicants: copy of HSK5 or above certificate.
5)Research plan and previous research program information (for Master & PhD applicants)
Applicants need to submit study and research plan written in English or Chinese with a minimum of 800 words. The research plan includes educational background, working experiences, research achievements, future research interest and research plan during their studies leading to master or doctoral degree, and personal career planning after graduation, etc.
6)References/letters of recommendation
Include the contact details of two referees who will support your application. These referees will need to provide insight into your research or study experience.
7)Academic papers and academic achievements, if any (for Master & PhD applicants).

Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant will be considered as invalid. Please carefully arrange your physical examination schedule as the physical examination result is valid for only 6 months.
10)Certificate of guarantee
Proof of the guarantor's financial ability (mainly including statement of employment and income, certificate of bank deposit or other proof of financial ability).

5.Confirm your result

IV.Selection criteria
The Scholarship Selection Panel will assess all applications received that meet the minimum eligibility requirements (above). The Panel will then use the following selection criteria (but not limited) to rank competitive applications and award the Scholarships:
-An excellent academic record and likelihood of success in studies at the study level.
-Commitment to integrated and interdisciplinary approaches to the perused program.
-Ability to use the skills learned from the program to influence society more broadly.
-Leadership qualities including collaboration and team work, flexibility, initiative, communication skills, integrity and vision through professional, educational, community and other achievements.
-Potential to be a strategic ambassador for NJUST.
In addition, decisions of the Panel are final and confidential. The Panel will not enter into correspondence regarding outcomes of the selection process.
V. Other rules & regulations
1.Scholarship recipients could not change their field of study or duration of study generally.
2.Duration of the Major Study should match the program you apply for as specified in the Admission Notice (If the scholarship recipient extends his/her study period, scholarship would not be continued. If the scholarship recipient suspends or drops out of study, his/her scholarship would be terminated correspondingly).
All scholarship recipients are obliged to attend the annual comprehensive scholarship assessment during April and/or May of each year to confirm their qualification of the scholarship for the next academic year.
