Beijing International Studies University 北京第二外国语学院
Beijing International Studies University is a high-level and characteristic university jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Municipal Government. It is a famous university with foreign languages and tourism as its dominant characteristic disciplines and a coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as literature, management, economics and philosophy. It is also an important base for the cultivation and research of talents in foreign languages, translation, tourism and economy and trade in China.
Funded and entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, in the academic year 2025, our university will set up the "High-level Postgraduate" Program of Chinese Government Scholarship, in order to strengthen the cultivation of high-level talents.
I. Discipline Information
1. Education category: Master degree.
2. Enrollment majors:
(1) Master Programs (two years)
English Translation, English Interpretation, Russian Interpretation, Japanese Translation, Japanese Interpretation, French Interpretation, German Interpretation, Korean Interpretation, Spanish Interpretation, Arabic Interpretation, Tourism Management (English Instruction), Modern China and City Development (English Instruction).
(2) Master Programs (three years)
Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Event Management, Enterprise Management, Translation Studies, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, English Language and Literature, Russian Language and Literature, French Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Japanese Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, Arabic Language and Literature, Asian-African Language and Literature (Korean).
3. Duration of study:
3 years (September 1, 2025 to July 15, 2028);
2 years (September 1, 2025 to July 15, 2027).
II. Scholarship Coverage and Standards
1. Tuition fee: tuition waiver
2. Accommodation fee: free on-campus accommodation (double room in Qinxue Building or Apartment No. 2 Building C)
3. Living subsidy: 3,000 RMB/month

III. Application Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and holding valid regular passports.
2. Applicants must be no more than 35 years old.
3. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with excellent academic performance.
4. Applicants must be in good health.
5. Applicants must have no violation of discipline, no public security punishment, no criminal behavior or record, friendly to China, have good conduct, abide by Chinese laws and regulations of the university, and respect Chinese people's customs and habits.

IV. Application Procedure
1. Log in the Online Application System for International Students of BISU and submit online application at http://apply.bisu.edu.cn/. Specific requirements are as follows:
1) Scanned copy of the first page of passport (valid later than September 2025);
2) Notarized certificate of the highest degree. If the applicant is a current student, they must provide the pre-graduation certificate issued by their school. Notarized Chinese or English translation shall be attached to any text other than Chinese and English.
3) Scanned copy of undergraduate study transcript, with notarized Chinese or English translation attached to any text other than Chinese and English.
4) Scanned copies of Chinese and English proficiency certificates;
Note: Applicants who intend to study in Chinese must submit an HSK level 4 certificate. Those who have already completed a degree taught in Chinese are exempt from this requirement.
5) Letters of recommendation from 2 associate professors or above;
6) Study plan (more than 1000 words, written in Chinese or English);
7) Physical examination records for foreigners (refer to Appendix 1, the template must be filled in English and the examination results are valid for 6 months);
8) Proof of no criminal record (supporting documents within 6 months before the application date).
Applicants who pass the review will receive the Pre-admission Notice of BISU.
2. Log in “CSC Information Management System for International Students” (after entering into http://www.campuschina.org, click “Application Online”), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship. V. Registration Time
1. The Online Application System for International Students of BISU registration period: From now until February 28, 2025 (Beijing time).
2. Applicants who have received the "Pre-admission Notice" from Beijing International Studies University should register on CSC Information Management System for International Students. The registration period is from January 5, 2025, to February 28, 2025 (Beijing time).
VI. Admission Process
1. After receiving all the application documents, BISU will review each applicant’s documents in detail and organize a telephone or remote interview for those applicants who pass the verification of the first round. Please make sure that the phone number on the application form works and the email address is correct.
2. Applicants who pass the verification of the application for admission will be selected as candidates for the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Program and be nominated to CSC for the final evaluation.
3. Please check the final evaluation results through personal account on the official website of CSC or BISU. It will take a long time to review all the application documents. Please be patient.
4. Applicants who pass the verification of the application for admission of BISU but are not qualified for the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Program can directly pursue self-financed study in BISU or apply for the Beijing International Students scholarship. The application website is http://apply.bisu.edu.cn/.
VII. Other Tips
1. Applicants should fill in true, accurate, complete and valid information when doing online application. Those who fail to fill in or provide false or invalid information shall bear all the adverse consequences and obligations.
2. The application materials will not be returned no matter whether the applicant is admitted or not.
3. Graduates in 2025 can provide the pre-graduation certificate issued by their school and submit official graduation certificate promptly upon receiving it.
4. The final admission is subject to the official admission notice sent by BISU.
5. Chinese Government Scholarship students who fail to register before deadline or fail in the physical examination for enrollment shall be disqualified for scholarship. After enrollment, students will be managed in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Chinese government scholarship program.
6. This program is an independent enrollment program. Students who change their schools, majors or study period after enrollment may be disqualified for scholarship.
7. Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to enjoy at the same time other scholarships (excluding lump-sum rewards) established by Chinese governments or admitting institutions. Once discovered, their Chinese government scholarship qualifications will be canceled and the Chinese government scholarships they have received must be returned. For applicants who deliberately conceal their financial assistance, in addition to having their eligibility revoked, they will not be allowed to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship within three years.
