The World Alliance of Universities on Carbon Neutrality was launched in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on Oct 27.
The institution is the world's first universities alliance that focuses on carbon neutrality, technical talent cultivation, and scientific research cooperation.
Initiated by Southeast University and the University of Birmingham, the alliance members include nearly 30 universities and sci-tech research institutes around the world.
The alliance will focus on talent training, scientific research cooperation, and achievement transformation in the field of carbon neutral technology. It will also promote cooperation and exchanges between world-class universities and academic institutions in response to climate change and contribute to the world's low-carbon development.
The alliance plans to hold a variety of events such as a carbon neutral knowledge contest among international college students, an international academic conference themed on carbon neutrality, joint training for high-level talents, and an exhibition for achievement transformation.
