East China Normal University (ECNU), a prestigious university in Shanghai, has been actively promoting educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.
The university has been cooperating with the Saudi Arabian government and enterprises for 15 years, and has trained a number of young Saudi talents who are proficient in Chinese and understand Chinese society and culture. Many of them have returned to Saudi Arabia to engage in China-related work in local government departments or Chinese-funded enterprises, which has played a positive role in promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Saudi Arabia.
ECNU is one of the first universities in China to cooperate with the Saudi government to launch the "Saudi Government Scholarship" program. Since the signing of the agreement in 2007, the university has received about 220 Saudi Arabian students, including more than 70 students who received the scholarship.
