Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), two prestigious schools in Shanghai, entered the top 100 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 at the 51st and 52nd spot, respectively, both seeing their world ranking rise.
A total of 12 universities in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong SAR entered the top 100. Fudan University and SJTU were ranked No 4 and No 6 respectively among the top 10 Chinese universities listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
The ranking is based on 13 performance indicators that measure an institution across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, with 1,799 universities across 104 countries and regions included.
