The third China-US Provincial/State University Presidents' Forum, which was organized by the China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) and the Changshu Institute of Technology, was held in Beijing on Feb 16.
About 500 representatives from more than 90 colleges in China and the United States attended the forum.
Chen Dali, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of China's Ministry of Education, said enhancing student and academic exchanges between Chinese and US colleges plays a significant role in building healthy and stable relations between the two countries.
Chen expressed hope that universities from the two sides can strengthen cooperation on major issues including mutual recognition of credits and carrying out joint degree programs. He also noted that China and US have the world's largest bilateral flow of talents.

Yang Shubing, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, then gave a briefing on the partnerships between Jiangsu and US universities in terms of implementing programs, building platforms, and training talents.
According to Yang, Jiangsu will play an active role in promoting further academic and innovation cooperation between Chinese and US colleges to groom more high-caliber talents with global mindsets. He also expected colleges from China and the US to share educational cooperation solutions through international forums, academic alliances, sister cities or sister schools. This will help with local economic and cultural cooperation and development, added Yang.
