The China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) organized a visit to the National Museum of China for 15 international students at the International Youth University in Beijing on April 14.

The students visited three special exhibitions at the museum-“The Power of Science and Technology”, “The Exhibition of Achievements of the China Manned Space Program over 30 Years”, and “The Compilation of Classics in the Flourishing Age: The Exhibition of Achievements in Compiling a Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings”, where they gained insights into the development of Chinese science and technology from ancient times to the present, and looked at the earth through the eyes of astronauts.

They also appreciated two famous ancient Chinese paintings - Along the River During the Qingming Festival and A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, both of which have been restored using modern technology.

The students agreed that from the historical development of science and technology in China, it is evident that the Chinese nation is a united, hardworking, innovative and creative nation. The great achievements of China’s aviation industry reflect the country’s national strength and demonstrate that Chinese modernization is in line with the reality of China, according to them.

“Every time I take a flight at Beijing Daxing International Airport, I feel that the light is so soft and comfortable. This visit revealed the secret behind it," said Juan Pablo Barragan Pinzon, an international student from Columbia, adding that he can also feel the culture and technology are promoting each other and developing together.

The event is part of a series of activities organized by the CIYEC to promote traditional Chinese culture. It aims to help international students studying in China gain a better understanding of China by learning about achievements of science and technology in the country.
