In a recent development, the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) has been granted membership into the Universities Contact Group of the International Annual Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications (IAMLADP).

The IAMLADP is an international forum and network of managers of international organizations employing conference and language service providers. Its origins date back to 1967, and every year, it brings together representatives of over 80 member organizations to share knowledge and experiences and discuss subjects of common interest.

The meeting includes several working groups, each responsible for training, conference and publishing affairs and language services.

The Universities Contact Group is part of the group on training, which acts as the IAMLADP’s liaison between international organizations and training institutions and universities, facilitating the exchange of information and cooperation.

Through the Contact Group, organizations can inform universities of the applicable requirements and anticipated skill gaps, allowing universities to provide more precise directions and resources for nurturing language professionals.

The approval of BFSU's membership in the Universities Contact Group signifies another international recognition of the university's influence in the global language and translation field.

Leveraging this opportunity, BFSU aims to engage in in-depth cooperation with other members of the Contact Group to offer students broader international perspectives and richer practical opportunities and help them adapt to the globalized linguistic environment.

The university is also committed to enhancing the research and teaching capabilities of the Contact Group and its global influence, thereby improving the quality of global language and translation education and driving further development in related fields.
