The 2024 "Reading Jiangsu" program for international students will be launched on May 17 at the Huaiyin Institute of Technology in Huai'an, Jiangsu. From May 17 to June 5, the program will host four on-site visits across Huai'an, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, and Yancheng, focusing on canals, traditional Chinese medicine, and modern agricultural technology, among other things.

During the program, foreign students at Jiangsu universities will be encouraged to read a wide range of books, poems, and essays related to Jiangsu's culture. To facilitate this, universities will offer a variety of activities, such as book recommendations, lectures, discussions, and film screenings, to help students gain a deeper understanding of Jiangsu's rich cultural heritage.

Through extensive reading and hands-on experiences, participants will be invited to creatively express their insights into Jiangsu's culture. This could include storytelling, speeches, music and dance performances, and even live broadcasts. A final event in November will showcase the outcomes of the program, demonstrating the students' unique interpretations of Jiangsu's stories.

The "Reading Jiangsu" program is designed to strengthen international students' connections with the province and foster a deeper appreciation for its traditions and innovations. Through this initiative, Jiangsu aims to promote cross-cultural understanding and highlight its cultural and technological achievements on a global stage.
