Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) launched its Immersive Language and Culture Center at the university library on May 6.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Sun Youzhong, a member of the standing committee of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university, said that the establishment of the Immersive Language and Culture Center embodies BFSU's student-centered educational philosophy and represents a meaningful exploration by the school library to adapt to the needs of the times.
The center enriches the functions of BFSU Library, upgrades its services and meets students’ needs for immersive learning experiences, Sun added.
Wang Shuyuan, executive deputy director of BFSU Library, expressed her gratitude for the strong support provided by the university's Party committee, its Hanjin Education Foundation and various functional departments. She assured that the library would strengthen management and effectively carry out follow-up work.
After the unveiling ceremony, BFSU students participated in on-site experiential activities at the center. The immersive learning environment and abundant audio-visual resources offered a more diverse language learning experience, which further enhanced their understanding of world languages and cultures and expanded their international perspectives and cross-cultural communication abilities.
The Immersive Language and Culture Center integrates immersive experiences, personalized learning, group discussions and recreational areas. By combining BFSU’s distinctive teaching resources with multimedia technology, the center presents intelligent services for the digital age and pioneers an innovative model for audio-visual spaces and an immersive multilingual learning and experience area.
