Belarusian Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets led a delegation to Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on May 20.
Jia Wenjian, BFSU president and deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, warmly welcomed Ivanets and his delegation and introduced the development of the university’s Belarusian language program.
Jia highlighted the collaboration between BFSU and Belarusian educational institutions, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering high-level multilingual talents, facilitating cultural exchanges between China and other countries and enhancing people-to-people bonds.
He expressed his hope for continued support from the Belarusian Ministry of Education, the Belarusian embassy in China and partner universities to elevate China-Belarus cultural exchanges to new heights.
Xi Ru, an official from the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at China's Ministry of Education, welcomed the Belarusian delegation and expressed support for further cooperation between BFSU and Belarusian universities. She underscored the importance of academic collaboration in strengthening China-Belarus relations and looked forward to more progress in educational exchanges.
Ivanets congratulated BFSU on its achievements in various sectors and commended the university's efforts in promoting the Belarusian language and culture. He reviewed the fruitful cooperation between BFSU and Belarusian universities, particularly Minsk State Linguistic University (MSLU).
Ivanets emphasized his desire to deepen collaboration between the two countries in Belarusian and Chinese language teaching and translation studies and research, aiming to initiate a new phase of educational cooperation through more high-level joint projects.
Also present at the meeting were officials from the Belarusian embassy in China, MSLU, the Belarusian Ministry of Education, China's Ministry of Education and BFSU.
