BISU attends China-GCC Countries Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation

The China-GCC Countries Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation was held in Xiamen from May 22 to 24. Ding Xuexiang, a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Chinese vice-premier, delivered an opening speech. Leaders from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia sent congratulatory letters to the forum.

About 600 representatives from Chinese and Gulf Cooperation Council countries' governments, enterprises, financial institutions and other sectors, took part in the event. Eight Arabic translators from Beijing International Studies University (BISU) also participated.

Chang Yu, secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, spoke about the majors and advantages of BISU to the leaders of the Fujian Development and Reform Commission (FDRC) during the forum. A discussion was held on topics such as regional and national studies and job opportunities in Fujian for BISU graduates.

Zhang Wenyang, deputy director of the FDRC, pointed out that under the Belt and Road Initiative, Fujian especially needs high-level professionals with foreign language proficiency who are skilled in cross-cultural exchanges. He sincerely invited graduates to seek employment opportunities in his province.

At the forum, Chang extended greetings to the BISU's language volunteers, praising the quality of their services. He encouraged them to shoulder responsibilities, broaden their horizons and enhance their abilities through such events. The students expressed their determination to contribute to the forum.

The forum, co-hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission and the People's Government of Fujian Province, with the theme "Embracing the Future: Advancing High-Quality Industrial and Investment Cooperation between China and GCC Countries", promoted the building of a new type of international relations and the pragmatic cooperation between China and GCC countries.
