The opening ceremony of the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was held at the permanent host site of the event in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 21.

This year is designated as the China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchanges. The education cooperation week will focus on people-to-people exchanges, showcasing the latest achievements of China-ASEAN educational exchanges and cooperation.

It aims to expand the scope of cultural projects, promote the "education+ innovation" model, and boost industrial development through cooperation between universities and research institutions.

The event will facilitate the sharing of experience and achievements in higher education, vocational education, basic education, special education, lifelong education, and other fields between China and ASEAN, aiming to better serve cultural exchanges, deepen educational cooperation, and promote regional economic and social development.

The education cooperation week will host around 70 activities, including 40 activities planned during the opening period. It will invite more than 4,000 guests and representatives, with over 1,000 expected to be international guests.

The event aims to facilitate the signing of various cooperation agreements (memorandums), as well as the establishment of various cooperation alliances (centers) and cooperation mechanisms.

It will also focus on building research cooperation platforms (projects), overseas colleges and training bases, as well as organizing various skill competitions, releasing academic and applied achievements, and promoting the development and sharing of teaching resources.
