The China-Africa Consortium of Universities Exchange Mechanism has established clear aims for the building of a platform for China-Africa higher education cooperation, according to Yuan Dayong, secretary-general of the Chinese Secretariat.

The Chinese Society of Higher Education and the Association of African Universities inaugurated the Chinese Secretariat of the China-Africa Consortium of Universities Exchange Mechanism at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) last year, harnessing BFSU's prowess in foreign languages to facilitate cultural exchanges and mutual recognition.

The advancement of educational cooperation between China and African nations represents a mutually beneficial endeavor. Drawing on the deep-rooted friendship between Chinese and African universities, this mechanism strives to integrate resources, deepening and solidifying bilateral collaborations.

"It not only inspires Chinese students and academics to actively contribute to Africa's development but also fosters a deeper understanding of China among Africans, guiding us towards a path tailored to our respective needs," Yuan said.

At the 2024 FOCAC Summit, the overall characterization of China-Africa relations is elevated to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. Watch the video to delve deeper into this education partnership.
