The Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), one of the leading technical universities in Kazakhstan, engages in extensive cooperation with Chinese universities and companies.
KBTU's cooperation partners include China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China University of Petroleum (East China), and Northeast Petroleum University, as well as companies such as China National Petroleum (CNPC), China Petroleum and Chemical Corp (Sinopec) and Huawai Technologies.
More cooperation projects are underway, according to Maratbek Gabdullin, rector of KBTU. Gabdullin said the university will establish joint educational programs and promote researcher exchanges. A joint lab will also be founded, with the research results to be used by oil and gas companies.
