Why internship annotation is necessary?

An internship annotation is required for international students in China to LEGALLY undertake an internship, as it officially registers the internship for legal purposes, providing a formal record of the student's status and relationship with the host organization. It's a necessary document to ensure the internship complies with local regulations, allowing students to gain legal work experience, fulfill academic credit requirements, and avoid potential issues related to their visa or residency status.

Especially for legal reasons

In accordance with the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, foreign nationals holding a student visa who wish to engage in off-campus internships must obtain approval from their educational institution and apply to the Exit and Entry Administration for an annotation on their residence permit indicating the location of internship, duration, and other relevant information.

What's the eligibility requirements?

1. The applicant must be an officially registered full-time international student.

2. The applicant must already hold a student visa with a remaining valid time of at least six months.

3. The applicant must have no record of misconduct, no violations of university regulations, or breaches of rules governing international students. Applicants must not have received any disciplinary actions from the university, violated Chinese laws, or been subjected to penalties by judicial authorities or public security organs.

4. The applicant must obtain approval from their respective department or school.

5. The applicant must have already secured an internship position at a relevant company or organization.
