The Tongji University International Student Community officially opened in Shanghai on March 22, welcoming its first cohort of more than 200 residents. It aims to strengthen social services for cultivating international talent and to support Shanghai's goal of becoming a global science and technology innovation hub.
Located in the core area of Wujiaochang in Yangpu district, the community spans 17,800 square meters. It comprises five dormitory buildings with 519 rooms and can house up to 759 international students, offering a modern, well-equipped living environment.
"This is not just a dormitory. It feels more like a home that allows me to focus on my studies with peace of mind," said Zheng Anyi, an international student from Canada.
