The China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association signed a cooperation agreement on Monday with two education technology firms to enhance international vocational and technological training based on Chinese language and technological standards.

The signing enters the association into the partnerships with Continental Han Feng Network Technology (Beijing), a subsidiary of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, and Meta Lingual, a Tianjin-based technology provider dedicated to the education sector.

Under the agreement, the three parties will establish a regular framework for industry-education collaboration. By attracting more enterprises and educational institutions to participate, the alliance aims to foster the systematic and standardized development of international talent training tailored to the power equipment industry. The initiative is expected to bolster the efforts of Chinese companies to expand internationally and explore new models of industrial and educational collaboration, according to the association.

The agreement was signed during a seminar in Beijing on Monday that brought together representatives from industry and academia. Leading manufacturers, including Weichai Power, Yuchai Machinery, Changan Automobile, and ZYNP, along with senior administrators from universities and colleges, held in-depth discussions on key topics. These included the competency standard framework for international roles under the "Chinese language plus power equipment" initiative, curriculum development, and the establishment of training bases abroad.

Participants reached consensus on several key areas, laying a foundation for nurturing interdisciplinary international professionals proficient in both Chinese and power equipment expertise.

China's power equipment industry is at a critical stage of global expansion. According to figures released by the General Administration of Customs, the internal combustion engine sector recorded a total import and export volume of $38.74 billion in 2025, representing an 8.38 percent increase year-on-year. Exports alone reached $28.33 billion, marking a 10.61 percent year-on-year rise.
